Students of the Lisa Lockhart Vocal Studios learn a healthy technique that focuses on proper posture, breathing and support, facilitating a free and resonant sound that works for just about any genre of music. Ms. Lockhart takes special care with younger students to insure that they learn healthy habits that will not damage their developing voices-and make sure they have fun too! As an opera & musical theatre singing actress who has performed throughout the U.S. and Europe, she also arms her students with strong music reading, dramatic & audition coaching. Not only do they learn proper vocal technique, her students also gain confidence by learning to read music well and how to create a commanding onstage presence. Many of Ms. Lockhart's students are successful performers; one is consistently cast in leading roles at his middle school and the education wing of a local community theatre, another was the male lead in his high school musical, and two others performed supporting roles with a local, professional opera company. A number of them have received Superior marks for their performances at the International Thespian Festival.

"I think there are a lot of good teachers out there. In my humble opinion, I feel that one thing that sets me apart is my sensitivity and adaptability with my students. In my experience, many teachers have a set lesson plan, delivering "carbon copy" lessons all day long. I put in the extra effort to really listen and tailor the work to fit the needs of each individual developing artist. I truly enjoy the interaction with students of all ages and types, and at all levels in their artistic development. I find it extremely rewarding when a student "gets" what I'm teaching them and has a breakthrough. Art is a gift that should be shared with as many people as possible!" - Lisa Lockhart
